It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we inform you of the death of our beloved
friend and colleague, Honorary Vice President of the BFA , Richard Wilson.

Dick as he was affectionately called came to The Bahamas with construction company McAlpine, later Cavalier Construction Company Ltd. in the late sixties.

He was a standout player in Bahamas Football League for many years. Following his retirement as an active player he assembled a team of high school boys from various high schools on New Providence to play against a team of school boys from The Cayman Islands. This group was to become The Cavalier Football Club, which enjoyed great success in The Bahamas Football Leagueunder Dick's tutelage , and continue to be an important part of
the local football landscape.

Dick was an ardent supporter of The Bahamas Football Association, and gave generously of his time and resources to assist in the growth and development of the game. He especially held a passion for young people. In recognition of this unselfish and dedicated service to Football in The Bahamas, Dick upon his retirement as a Vice president of the BFA, was bestowed the title of Honorary Vice President.

Early this morning, with his devoted wife Maria at his side, our beloved friend of football, passed peacefully.
His was a life well lived, we should all celebrate this life even as we express our condolences to his wife Maria and the entire Wilson family.

May his soul rest in peace.
